The weird thing about being stuck in debt is..
You don't always notice it right away.
At least I didn't.
It just slowly becomes part of your routine.
Pay bills. Use credit. Catch up later.
Repeat.
It felt normal at first
I wasn't missing payments.
I wasn't getting calls or anything like that.
So I assumed everything was under control.
But looking back, there were clear signs.
I just ignored them.
The signs I missed
Things like:
My balance barely moving month to month
Using one card to help pay another
Feeling stressed every time a bill came in
Always planning to "figure it out soon"
Individually, they didn't seem like a big deal.
But together, they told a different story.
The biggest one
The biggest sign was this:
I was putting in effort… but nothing was improving.
That's when it started to hit me.
I wasn't just "managing" debt.
I was stuck in it.
Why it's easy to stay stuck
Because nothing forces you to change.
As long as you're making payments, everything keeps going.
Quietly.
That's what makes it dangerous.
What changed for me
Once I recognized the pattern, I couldn't ignore it anymore.
I knew I had to look at my options differently.
Not just keep doing the same thing and hoping for a different result.
